Las Vegas Strip's game-winning percentage fell 15% in July 2024, the first drop in total state game revenue in four months, according to a statement released by the Nevada Gaming Commission on Wednesday, Aug. 28. Despite the recession, the total win rate for July was $1.3 billion, a significant increase from July 2023, when it hit a monthly high of $1.4 billion.

Michael Lawton, chief economist at the Gaming Commission, explained that the decline should not be considered the beginning of a downtrend. "July 2023 was a very difficult comparison, as we recorded the second-highest winning percentage in state and strip history due to a very difficult baccarat comparison involving holds," he explained.
